November stilleben - unedited composer's desk, creative chaos - complete with sunlight lamp (against winter depression), nasal spray (against cold), colouring pencils, postit notes and1990ies calculator for organizing. Attempts to surrounding myself with scores from dead masters (R. Murray Schafer and Karlheinz Stockhausen, on the walls) in the hope that some of it will rub off. Working on chiseling out the metric system that is going to be the foundation for Before All Else. Which is working title for the piece I am writing for some 2025 concerts of the eminent musicians @bente_illevold_euphonium and the saxophone quartet @rollinphones ... See MoreSee Less

Happy that human rights prize goes to the new 'Forgotten Children of War Association' of Sarajevo ❤️❤️❤️ This, I've learnt today, is the first and only association whose founders and members are children born of war. I feel personally very happy since I am in the middle of writing this piece Erinnere about one such war child from WW2 who was dear to me. And I know a bit about how it affected her to find her mother's documents, like the founder of FCWA, Ajna Jusic tells about in todays news. For myself as a composer, diving into the documents and transforming it to lyrics and music is heavy, I can only imagine how it is for the war child itself. I wish that Anne Brit could have lived to experience this prize - The Oslo University Human Rights Prize 2024, connected to the Nobel Peace Prize. It would probably have made her feel less alone. ...
